Healthy ageing depends on adherence, not just adoption

Many consumers purchase health-focused products because of their promised benefits, yet stop using them after only a few weeks. Behavioral science suggests that long-term health outcomes are driven by the consistent repetition of small behaviors over time, not by occasional healthy choices. For innovators in healthy ageing, nutrition, and wellness, the most important question may not be “Do consumers like it?” but rather “Will they still be using it six months from now?”

This is one of the topics covered by Michelle Niedziela, behavioral neuroscientist and founder of Nerdoscientist, in the latest episode of the podcast ‘Consumer Perspective‘, titled “Healthy Today, Forgotten Tomorrow?”

(Agro FOOD Industry Hi Tech editorial team)

Presented by 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗼 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗛𝗶-𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵, this episode explores the behavioral science behind product abandonment and why sensory experience, conveniencehabit formation, and immediate rewards may be just as important as health claims for long-term success.
